what is love?

You can’t define love. How could someone even begin to place a definition on a concept experienced by 7 billion people? You can’t. But I tried.

Love is not…

Love is not a person.

You can love someone, but love is not them.

Love is not the image of a person you thought you knew so well.

Love is…

Love is how you treat yourself.

Love is allowing yourself to give up on something wonderful, simply because it’s not enough for you.

Love is not just knowing your self-worth, but standing up for it when it is challenged.

Love is not just knowing your values, but defending them when they are questioned.

Love is the kindness you show yourself when you are going through hard times.

Love is the forgiveness you show yourself when you make mistakes.

Love is telling yourself that you are beautiful until you believe it.

Love is relying on your support system, because everyone needs a little help sometimes.

Love is taking care of yourself physically, emotionally, and mentally.

Love is allowing yourself to grieve after heartbreak.

Love is building yourself back up stronger.

Love is embracing your emotions, no matter how ugly they may be.

Love comes from friends and family.

Love comes from within.

That is love … and I have never felt so loved as I do right now.
