My 2022 Resolutions

As my yoga teacher and mentor said during class this morning, we don’t need January 1st to begin again. We may choose to begin again at any time throughout the day, week, month, or year and with every breath, we are reborn if we so choose.

January 1st does, however, serve as a great reminder that we are all able to begin again and set new goals for ourselves. And although the calendar year is merely an arbitrary method of keeping track of the days, I firmly believe that 2022 will be a year of growth, self love, and inspiration for me.

With that, here are my resolutions and goals.

  1. Meditate every day for at least 5 minutes, more if possible.
  2. Read 22 books.
  3. Cook a new meal once a month.
  4. Blog more, especially about the EMT and pre-PT life.
  5. Work on my PT application.
  6. Do a closet clean-out.
  7. Get rid of 1 item (that does not bring me joy) every day, and in general live more like a minimalist.
  8. Create a capsule wardrobe.
  9. Continue my consistent yoga practice.
  10. Hydrate more.
  11. Be mindful, intentional, and present.
  12. Work hard and save money.
  13. Eat out at restaurants less.
  14. Further my yoga teaching skills and become a more inspiring teacher.

My intention, or drishti (focal point), for the year is: “I am self-motivated and full of energy.”

What are your resolutions and intentions for the new year?
