daily life

back at it

Hello there. Not sure if anyone’s still listening, but if so… thank you.

I took a long break from blogging for the simplest, most overused excuse out there: I was busy. My life just got crazy and, sadly, the blog had to be put on hold for a bit.

So what was up in my life during the past almost-year? I overloaded myself with credits, got my yoga instructor certification, got a job at the W&M recreation center as a yoga instructor, got a job as a medical scribe at the ER, was accepted as a candidate for an honors in neuroscience, started and continued to cultivate a wonderful and healthy relationship, and attempted to survive the pandemic.

As a very social and outgoing person, the COVID-19 pandemic has been mentally and emotionally challenging — as I know it has been for a lot of people. This experience has clearly shown me who my support system is. It’s taught me how to roll with the punches, how to be creative with my time, and how to be socially close with one another despite physical distance.

I’ve definitely seen my own set of ups and downs during the pandemic, including letting my physical health drop down in my list of priorities. As we begin the fall 2020 semester and settle back into our daily routines, I intend to make my physical and mental health top priority. After all, that’s what my whole blog was always about, isn’t it?

I’m getting back into journaling, practicing yoga, painting, and exercising. I’ve even started lifting weights! I am eating mostly whole, healthy foods again and attempting to hydrate sufficiently. I am organizing my academics and research well so that I can stay ahead of the game and make the most of my education. I’m spending lots of time with my lovely boyfriend, his family, and my family.

I am by no means a professional at being healthy and always making the right decisions. Still, I think that makes it that much more important to share my journey. So if you’re still out there reading my blogs, drop a comment (or message me!) to let me know how you’re doing and how I can help.

You got this. xoxo ESM
